Elon Musk Uses Bad Press To Shield Himself From Worse Press

Yesterday I wrote an article for KnowTechie speculating that Elon Musk’s Tweet that Twitter would have a new female CEO was cover for really bad press. Today, I added two updates.

Elon Musk teases a new Twitter CEO, what is he hiding?

I don’t know what story Musk is specifically trying to distract the world from. However, the energy on the part of reporters, pundits, and the public speculating who will be Twitter’s new CEO is distracting from something.

UPDATE #1 – 5/12/2023: Musk Tweeted to confirm that Linda Yaccarino will be the new CEO.
UPDATE #2 – 5/12/2023: China orders Tesla to recall 1.1 million vehicles over braking risks, says The New York Times.

Musk is nothing if not predictable. While Musk clearly doesn’t mind bad press, he always seems to use tantrums or seemingly erratic news bait hits to run public cover for truly damming headlines. In short Musk uses misdirection like a slight of hand magician.
